FC Players from Enyimba vow to win the CAF Champions League



The People’s Elephants have vowed to win trophies this season
Enyimba FC captain Chinedu Udoji believes his side will consolidate on their fine form in the league to do well in the CAF Champions League.



 Speaking exclusively to NAIJ.com Sports right after their 0 – 0 draw to newcomers MFM FC of Lagos, Udoji disclosed that although the team are having a very tight schedule, it will not deter them from achieving their aim of retaining the league and possibly winning the Champions league this term.
“Our team has been playing games for the past one month now, we have not rested playing both league and continental games, but it wont stop us from winning trophies this season,” he raved.

 Also, striker of the side Mfom Udoh who missed two clear-cut chances in the game against the ‘Oluyole Warriors’ at the Agege Stadium on Wednesday 11, stated that he was just unlucky in the game, promising to bounce back as soon as possible.
    “It was unfortunate that i did not score, whether one-on-one or clear cut chance, that’s how football is,” he said. The u-23 striker said that he wishes to increase his tally in the CAF Champions league and go all the way with the Peoples Elephants
     “Of course i will want to score more goals in the Champions League and most of all, assisting my team to qualify for the semis and winning the cup,” he said. In his reaction, goalkeeper of the side, Theophilus Afelokhai who saved three penalty kicks in their Champions League second leg tie against Etoile du Sahel, with several commanding saves against MFM FC at the Agege stadium however posited that he is currently in a form of his life.
     “I love doing my job on the field of play which is to guard my post and i see myself enjoying it,” he said. Enyimba remains 12th on the table but with three games to spare against Wikki Tourist, Warri Wolves and an all important weekend home match to Ifeayi Ubah FC at Umuahia.
    The NPFL defending champions are still in contention for the CAF champions league, having qualified for the group stage.
